LIC Agent Online Procedure to Become LIC Agent
Becoming an LIC Agent is a simple and well-structured process. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand how to join LIC as an Agent easily. If you meet the eligibility criteria set by Life Insurance Corporation of India, you can register yourself through our online registration process.

Step 1: LIC Agent Registration
The first step to becoming an LIC Agent is Agent Registration. You can register in two ways:
🔹 Offline Registration
In offline registration, the candidate needs to visit the nearest LIC Branch and meet a Development Officer. You will be required to fill out an agency registration form and submit basic details such as:

Passport-size photographs
-
Educational qualification documents

Details of two reference persons
🔹 Online Registration (Recommended)
The easiest and most convenient way to apply is online registration.
Here, you simply need to fill in your basic details and upload the required documents through the online form.

Step 2: Pre-Exam Training
After successful registration, you must complete a 25-hour pre-examination training program.
You can choose:

Offline training at LIC’s training center (4 days), or

Online training, which you can attend from home at your convenience
The training covers:

Rules and regulations

Overview of IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India)
You will also receive:

Mock tests to help you prepare and pass the exam confidently
Step 3: IRDAI Online Exam
Once your training is completed, the next step is to appear for the IRDAI Online Examination.
Exam Details:

Exam duration: 1 hour

Total questions: 50 objective-type questions

Marks per question: 1 mark each

Passing marks: 18 out of 50

No negative marking
With proper training and guidance, around 98% of candidates successfully pass the exam.
Step 4: Appointment & Product Training
After clearing the IRDAI exam, you will receive LIC product training, starting from the basics. This training focuses on:

Understanding LIC policies

Customer handling and objection management
-
Practical field training through joint customer calls
Once this stage is completed:

You will receive your LIC Appointment Letter

You will be issued an LIC Agent ID Card, authorizing you to sell LIC insurance products
At this stage, candidates are required to submit the final agency form along with necessary documents.

After document submission, a formal interview will be conducted by the LIC Branch Manager. Upon approval, LIC issues the appointment letter and ID card.
Fees Required for LIC Agent Exam

Online Pre-Exam Training Fee: ₹200
(Offline training at LIC Training Center is free) -
IRDAI Exam Fee: ₹504
Candidates will receive an SMS from IRDAI with a Unique Reference Number (URN) to pay the exam fee online.
